Terms of Service
Effective 30 September 2026. These terms govern access to and use of LUBA Market.
1. About LUBA Market
LUBA Market is operated by Luba Modern Market in Uganda. The service connects approved users to agricultural commodity information, verified hub operations, portfolio records and administrative workflows. Financially binding deposits, withdrawals and trade settlement remain unavailable until the service displays that the applicable release gates are open.
2. Eligibility and accurate information
You must be legally capable of entering into these terms, control the mobile number used for verification and provide complete, accurate and current information. You may not create an account for another person without authority or misrepresent your identity, organisation or role.
3. Accounts, OTP verification and roles
Account creation is protected by a one-time code sent to the registered mobile number. After verification, eligible users may also sign in with a verified email address or a securely linked Google identity when those providers are enabled. Keep your devices and codes secure and notify Luba Modern Market if you suspect unauthorised access. Tools and records are limited by the role approved for your account.
4. Identity checks and KYC
Some services require identity, organisation, address or supporting-document checks. Submitted information must be genuine and may be reviewed against lawful verification sources. An account or transaction may remain pending, require more information or be rejected where verification cannot be completed.
5. Commodity information and availability
Commodity prices are quoted in Ugandan shillings per kilogram and may be updated at scheduled publication windows or through an audited emergency override. Availability depends on accepted stock at eligible hubs. Displayed prices, portfolio estimates and availability can change and do not by themselves create a completed purchase or guaranteed return.
6. Quotes, orders and fees
A quote is valid only for its displayed period. Before confirmation, you must review the commodity, hub, quantity, price, fees and total. An order becomes binding only when the production settlement service is enabled and the platform confirms successful settlement. Failed, expired or rejected quotes do not transfer ownership.
7. Hub storage, weight changes and collection
Accepted commodity stock is recorded by hub and lot. Stored agricultural commodities may experience the disclosed daily storage-weight adjustment. Collection requests are subject to available, unlocked holdings, hub approval, identity checks, pickup requirements and operating hours. Risk transfers only at the point stated in the confirmed collection record.
8. Wallets and payments
Wallet balances and payment records are denominated in UGX. Funding and withdrawal channels may include approved mobile-money or bank-transfer providers when enabled. Bank proofs are subject to review and do not credit a wallet until verified. Provider delays, reversals and reconciliation checks may affect availability. The platform will never treat an unverified callback or uploaded receipt as settled funds.
9. Farmer deliveries and hub operations
Farmer deliveries are subject to weighing, quality inspection and hub acceptance. Gross weight is not the final accepted quantity. Cashout or settlement is due only after the relevant operational and payment checks are completed and recorded.
10. Communications
You agree to receive service messages needed for OTP verification, security, KYC, orders, delivery or collection status and other account operations. Optional promotional messages require separate consent and can be stopped without losing essential service notices.
11. Acceptable use
You must not submit fraudulent documents, manipulate stock or payment evidence, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with platform availability, scrape protected data, impersonate another user, misuse referral tools or use the service to evade any applicable law.
12. Suspension and termination
Luba Modern Market may suspend access where information is inaccurate, a security or compliance risk exists, these terms are breached or the law requires it. Suspension does not erase lawful transaction, inventory, audit or compliance records. Where practical, affected users will receive a reason and a route to request review.
13. Intellectual property
The LUBA Market name, interface, software, reports and original content are owned by or licensed to Luba Modern Market. You may use account records and downloaded reports for their intended personal, business or regulatory purpose but may not reproduce or commercially exploit the platform itself without permission.
14. Availability and responsible use of information
The service may be interrupted for maintenance, security, provider outages or circumstances outside reasonable control. Agricultural commodity ownership and trading involve price, quality, storage and liquidity risk. Nothing on the platform is a promise of profit or personalised financial advice.
15. Liability
To the extent permitted by Ugandan law, Luba Modern Market is responsible only for loss directly caused by its proven breach of these terms or applicable law. It is not responsible for indirect loss, user-supplied inaccuracies, unauthorised use caused by a user’s failure to secure their phone, or independent provider failures outside reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
16. Changes to these terms
Material changes will be identified by a new effective date and communicated through the service or registered contact details. Where required, continued use of affected services will require renewed acceptance.
17. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda. Please first raise a complaint with Luba Modern Market so it can be investigated. This does not limit any right to approach a competent regulator, tribunal or court.
